JobStart - Where Futures Begin
The Central South Etobicoke Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) is a partnership of local community agencies led by Job Start and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to develop a comprehensive strategy to enhance the economic and social integration of newcomers in the area. To that end, the Partnership conducts research, including focus groups and one-on-one interviews with immigrants/ newcomers to help us identify the services and support they need to access employment, housing, education and health care.
We seek focus group participants, age 18 and up, employed or unemployed, who have been in Canada for less than 3 years. We have interpreters for those who speak little or no English.
The focus groups are 90 minutes long and will take place in March. Each group will consist of 7- 8 individuals, who will share their opinions, experiences and ideas about settling and finding work in Canada. Participants will be provided refreshments and a financial gift.
To register for a focus group or for more information, please contact Miglena Todorova, Researcher at (416) 231-2295 or Avril White, LIP Manager at (416) 231-2295 ext. 2709.
